Inner Working Reviews: Indie Round up 1

So Steams thanksgiving spectacular deals have put about 20-30 indie games into my steam account and after playing a few i am going to review quickly three of the games i had a chance to explore over the holiday weekend. Now most of the games i do are under the radar or indie titles themselves. These games are the ones that have no real story and are just casual games. So lets start!

Beat Hazard:

This Game is like Asteroids but on crack. They game uses any music in your library to play during the game. The louder and more vibrant the music, the faster and more powerful you shoot. You gain power ups through the game that will increase your power and increase the volume of the music during it and if you hit max on both power ups, you shoot a mega laser(if your music is loud enough) that destroys most asteroids or ships in one hit. There are some boss battles that come at very random times, sometimes not at all, that are particularly difficult but once you learn the moves the become predictable. This is a great fun game for a cheap price. Overall Score: A-

Plain Sight
This game an amusing multi-player hack in slash. although in reality it only has one real move called the dash slash, you hold down the mouse button and once given the Que you dash towards the enemy and instant kill them..if you hit. The challenge in the game works off of the variable movement speed of the robots. When you first spawn your extremly fast and jump really high. as you make a kill you gain energy which makes you slower and bigger. However you can explode at anytime and take a few players with you. However there is very little depth to this game besides that and even a lame storyline like most indie games have would have given this a much higher score. Overall Score: B-

The Polynomial:
The Polynomial is a space fighter game that uses music to create the visuals around you, You have "nom noms" that will constantly try to eat you and shooter lasers to you. Unfortunately this game has even less depth than Plain Sight and its almost impossible to avoid fire. For the price of Polynomial i would not recommend this one but its worth checking out if you bought it in an Indie Pack during the Steam Sales. Overall Score: C-
